Meet The Shack..
Rick SwanThe Volleyball Shack Co-Owner
Under the management of owner Rick Swan (Head Volleyball Coach at Colorado College) The Volleyball Shack continue to offer Adult and Youth Leagues. Coach Swan will bring a wealth of volleyball knowledge to the facility with over 20 years of experience in playing and coaching volleyball. Rick has been the head coach at Colorado College for the past 6 years. During that time his teams have a combined record of 122-57 and have earned six consecutive appearances in the NCAA DIII Championship Tournament. Before coming to CC Rick spent five years as head girl's volleyball coach at St. Mary's High School and coached the Pirates to an overall record of 131-17, including a State 3A Championship in 1996. St. Mary's also finished second (1994), third (1997), and fourth (1995) at the state tournament during his tenure as coach.
A Colorado Springs native and 1986 graduate of James Madison University in Harrisonburg, VA, Rick and his wife Beth have three young daughters who love to play volleyball. You can expect to be seeing them a lot in the facility.
Owner Jim Morley, a local Real Estate Developer, is very excited about keeping volleyball alive in Colorado Springs. Jim has had his kids playing in volleyball leagues and/or club volleyball at Match Point/The Volleyball Shack for over the past six years.
Lisa (white ears) runs daily operations at The Volleyball Shack. Call Lisa for most all questions or see her hopping around at the front desk.
Big House Joe, seen here picking our the Big House wooden flooring in Germany, currently administers the Youth Programs with Coach Swan, conducts coaching and officiating training, and is preparing the business model for Big House Sports during the day.
